Peoples Insurance Company Limited Declares 8% Cash Dividend.
The 35th Annual General Meeting of Peoples Insurance Company Limited was held over a digital platform on Thursday, 24 September 2020 due to the corona virus pandemic. The company’s chairman, Jafar Ahmed Patwari presided over the meeting where directors, including the chairmen of all assistive committees of the board of directors, representatives of statutory auditors and above 300 digitally connected shareholders joined the AGM. Adviser, M. H. Khaled, Managing Director and CEO, Sib Sankar Saha, FCA, Company’s past chairmen & highly officials also attended the AGM. The meeting was continued by Company Secretary, Sk. Md. Sarfaraz Hossain ACS.
Shareholders approved the audited financial statements for the year 2019, 8 per cent cash dividend for the year 2019, and appointed statutory auditors and compliance professionals for the year 2020 and a number of important issues. The AGM began at 11:30 am on the virtual platform, where shareholders registered on the record date could join, propose or second or vote or oppose agenda following the instructions previously issued by the company. The shareholders expressed their satisfaction for efficient Management in running the affairs of the Company.

পিপলস্ ইন্স্যুরেন্স কোম্পানী লিমিটেডের ৩৫তম বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা বৃহস্পতিবার, ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২০ তারিখে করোনা ভাইরাসজনিত মহামারীর কারণে ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। কোম্পানীর চেয়ারম্যান জনাব জাফর আহমেদ পাটোয়ারী উক্ত সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন। পরিচালনা পর্ষদের সকল কমিটির চেয়ারপার্সন, সংবিধিবদ্ধ নিরীক্ষকের প্রতিনিধি এবং ৩ শতাধিক ডিজিটালি সংযুক্ত শেয়ারহোল্ডারগণ সভায় যোগদান করেন। উপদেষ্টা জনাব এম. এইচ. খালেদ, ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ও সিইও জনাব শিব শংকর সাহা, এফসিএ, কোম্পানীর প্রাক্তণ চেয়ারম্যানবৃন্দ এবং উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তাগণ উক্ত সভায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সভা পরিচালনা করেন কোম্পানী সচিব জনাব শেখ মোঃ সরফরাজ হোসেন এসিএস।
শেয়ারহোল্ডারগণ ২০১৯ সালের নিরীক্ষিত আর্থিক বিবরণী, ২০১৯ সালের জন্য ৮ শতাংশ নগদ লভ্যাংশ অনুমোদন করেন। এছাড়াও ২০২০ সালের জন্য সংবিধিবদ্ধ নিরীক্ষক, কম্পøায়েন্স নিরীক্ষক এবং বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহন ও অনুমোদন করেন। বিগত বৎসরে কর্তৃপক্ষ বিচক্ষণতার সাথে কোম্পানীর কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করায় শেয়ারহোল্ডারগণ সন্তোষ প্রকাশ করেন।
